Licence terms

Last updated: 11 October 2026

In short: try FrameAnvil free for 14 days. A $39 licence lets you use it on up to three of your own computers, for personal or commercial work, with free updates. The videos you make are entirely yours. If it isn’t right for you, you can have a refund within 30 days.

1. These terms

These terms are an agreement between you and FrameAnvil (“we”) about using the FrameAnvil software (“FrameAnvil”). By installing or using FrameAnvil, you agree to them. If you use it for an organisation, you agree on its behalf.

2. Free trial

You may use FrameAnvil, with every feature, free for 14 days from the first time you open it. After the trial you can keep opening, editing and saving projects, but exporting requires a licence. Please don’t try to reset or extend the trial.

FrameAnvil was free, with no time limit, before the trial was introduced. Copies used before then stay free on the computer they were used on, with every feature.

3. Your licence

When you buy a licence, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use FrameAnvil on up to three computers that you own or use, for personal or commercial purposes. A licence is for one person; for several people, buy one each (or contact us).

You may not: share or publish your licence key; sell, rent or sublicense FrameAnvil; get around the trial or the licence check; or copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer FrameAnvil, except where the law allows it regardless of these terms.

FrameAnvil remains our property: you get a licence to use it, not ownership of the software.

4. Your work

Everything you create with FrameAnvil (your projects and exported videos, pictures and sound) belongs to you, with no watermark, royalty or claim from us. You’re responsible for having the rights to the media you use.

5. Updates

Your licence includes all updates to the version you bought, including every 0.x and 1.x release. We may one day sell a new major version (2.0) as an optional paid upgrade; the version you have keeps working.

6. Payment and refunds

Orders are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our online reseller and Merchant of Record, which also handles billing questions and taxes. Their buyer terms apply to the purchase itself.

If you’re not happy with FrameAnvil, email support@frameanvil.com within 30 days of buying for a full refund; no reason needed. Your licence key then stops working.

If you’re a consumer in the European Union or the UK, you have a legal right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days. For digital content, that right ends when, with your agreement, you start using it (for example, by activating your key); our 30-day refund above applies either way.

7. Third-party software

FrameAnvil includes open-source components, such as FFmpeg, Electron and PDF.js, which are covered by their own licences. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences. See the open-source licences.

8. Privacy

FrameAnvil works on your computer and has no tracking. What it sends when it checks for updates or activates your key is described in the privacy policy.

9. Warranty and liability

We work hard to make FrameAnvil reliable, but software can have faults. Keep copies of important media and projects. To the extent the law allows, FrameAnvil is provided “as is”, without warranties beyond those the law requires, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. We aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost data, profits or time.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by agreement, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Ending the licence

You can stop using FrameAnvil at any time. If you seriously break these terms (for example, by sharing your key publicly), we may disable your licence key. Sections 4, 7 and 9 continue after the licence ends.

11. Law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

We may update these terms for future versions and will show the new date here. Changes don’t take away rights you already have under a licence you bought.
