Privacy policy

Last updated: 11 October 2026

In short: FrameAnvil doesn’t collect, send or sell any information about you. It works entirely on your computer, and your projects and media never leave it. The only time it goes online is to check frameanvil.com for updates, which you can turn off.

The FrameAnvil app

FrameAnvil is a desktop application. It doesn’t require an account, and it has no analytics, crash reports, advertising or tracking of any kind.

Everything it works with stays on your device:

You can delete all of this at any time by removing FrameAnvil’s folder:

SystemFolder
Windows%APPDATA%\FrameAnvil
macOS~/Library/Application Support/FrameAnvil
Linux~/.config/FrameAnvil

Update checks

Copies downloaded from frameanvil.com check for a newer version shortly after they start and every few hours while they run. To do that, FrameAnvil asks our server for a small file describing the latest release (and, when there is one, downloads the update). Like any request on the internet, this tells our server your IP address, along with the FrameAnvil version and the kind of computer it runs on (sent by your system as part of the request). Nothing about you, your projects or your files is sent.

The server’s standard logs of these requests are kept for a short time to run the service and keep it secure, and aren’t used to identify or track anyone.

To stop automatic checks, turn off Help › Check for Updates Automatically. You can still check yourself with Check for Updates…. Copies from an app store don’t contact us at all: the store handles their updates.

App stores

If you get FrameAnvil from an app store (such as the Microsoft Store, the Mac App Store, the Snap Store or Flathub), that store handles the download and any updates under its own privacy policy. The store may share anonymous figures with us, such as download counts, crash statistics it gathers itself and the countries installs come from. These don’t identify you.

This website

frameanvil.com uses no cookies, analytics or third-party scripts, and loads nothing from other websites. Like any web server, our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) for a short time to run the site and keep it secure; we don’t use them to identify or track visitors.

Email

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply to you, and we don’t share them with anyone.

Children

FrameAnvil doesn’t collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If a future version of FrameAnvil changes what it connects to or sends, this policy will be updated first, and the change will be described here with a new date.
